Cleaning & Care

Before First Use
Tumble your Parallel Pillow in the dryer on low heat for 5 minutes to restore loft after shipping.

Outer Cover

  • Zippered and removable
  • Machine wash cold with mild detergent
  • Tumble dry low

Inner Cover

  • Spot clean only with mild soap and water
  • Lay flat to dry or tumble dry on low

A winner!

It has been an ongoing, and expensive, struggle to find a comfortable pillow. While I have only used the pillow for about two weeks, it is very comfortable. I purchased the higher loft version thinking I might have to remove some fill and discovered it is fine as is. So far, so good. Also, I appreciate the pillow’s features and price point.

The jury is still out

The pillow seems well made, but it’s been two weeks and I still cannot seem to get it to where it is comfortable. When I remove enough fill to align my neck and head, the center of it gets very flat after lying on it. When I add fill back in to try and remedy that, it makes the pillow too tall for me. I will keep trying to get it right, but this may not be the right pillow for me.

There's no extra work for you! Having worked with charities and organizations for many years, our founders recognized that pillow inequity was a problem. And we saw how displaced children, grown-ups and seniors often cling to their pillow (if they have one) as a source of comfort. A pillow is something people take with them when they have nothing else. We believe everyone deserves a clean, supportive pillow, so we built our business model around a simple but unique plan to donate a new, quality pillow to a person in need for every Parallel Pillow sold. How does the ParaPur™ self-refreshing technology work?

Amazingly well! (A similar technology has been used in technical sports apparel, where manufacturers were a little unnerved to learn athletes stopped washing their clothing because it never smelled bad.) Our inner shell contains permanently embedded silver ions that naturally destroy 99.9% of microbes that cause odors, without nasty chemicals.

Silver ions have a wide spectrum of biocidal activity against bacteria, fungi, and viruses, due to their high surface-to-volume ratio. Our pure silver ions are permanently bonded to the four-way-stretch material of our inner shell to act as a protective barrier. It's also good to know pure silver is hypoallergenic and that people who think they have silver allergies in fact react to the nickel or copper commonly mixed with silver in jewelry.
